General Questions
Do I need to book in advance
No need to book for campsite unless you are traveling with a large group.
For Summerhouses and Bungalows, we recommend booking in advance.
What time should I reach there?
Check-in for summerhouses and bungalows are from 14 – 21. Please let us know if you will be arriving later.
For camping: If you arrive after a closing hour you can set up your tent and then register and pay the next morning.
What time should I leave the next day?
Summerhouses and bungalows: Check out time is before 11:00.
Campsite & RV park: Check out time is before 12:00.
Do you have electric hook-ups
Yes, our campsite is great for guests traveling with motor-homes, campers, and caravans. We offer electric hook-ups in 40 pitches.
Are there cafe, supermarket og restaurant at the campsite?
There is a cafe offering the possibility to have breakfast, snacks, coffee, and tea on-site.
As we are located in the heart of Selfoss you will find other shops, a large supermarket and various restaurants and cafes within a short walking distance.
Why does the hot water smell?
Can I drink the tab water
Yes, and it will be one of the best drinks you will have in Iceland.
Where do I pay?
Guests pay for the campsite and RV Park at the services center. Please note that if an employee needs to charge you at the campsite it is considered an extra service you will need to pay for.
About Our Services
Summerhouses
We offer two luxury summerhouses, 50 m2, that fit 4-6 guests. Each summerhouse has two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room, fully equipped kitchen with ceramic cooker, oven, microwave, refrigerator, kitchenware, tableware for 6, toaster, coffee maker, electric kettle and dining area.
In addition, each summerhouse features a big terrace with garden furniture and a private geothermal hot tub.
Bungalows
Our bungalows are equipped with a private bathroom, kitchenette, and private entrance. The bungalows are perfect for 1 – 3 adults or a family with two young children. The bungalows are located in the “forest” in a quiet and tranquil environment.
Guests staying in the bungalows are welcome to use the nice and warm geothermal hot tubs, located at the service center, for free. They are also welcome to use washing machine and dryer, located next to the service center, for free.
Campsite
Our guests have access to a separate service center with WC, hot showers, a kitchen and a big dining room. In addition, we have a washing machine, dryer and shoe-dryer on-site for guests and there is free Wi-Fi in public areas.
Our campsite is great for guests traveling with motor-homes, campers, and caravans. We offer electric hook-ups in 40 pitches, motor-home toilets can be emptied at a chemical disposal point and drinking water can be filled.
Breakfast
Breakfast buffet is served every morning from 07:30 – 10:00 in the summertime at the service center for an additional fee.
Location
Gesthús Selfossi is the ideal place to stay for a couple of nights while visiting Iceland. It has a great location in the south of Iceland, nearby many of Iceland’s most visited places.
Therefore it is convenient to stay in Gesthús Selfossi for a few days and drive in different directions to visit some of the most beautiful places on earth.
